Japanese tourists: We want a little bit of history

While Japan is a big economy, it has a limited amount of foreign direct investment, and Japan’s business environment is so competitive that many Japanese firms are struggling to compete in the global marketplace.

But now Japan is seeing an opportunity to grow its tourism industry and make its citizens more familiar with its culture.

Tour operator Japon has begun promoting the return of its iconic “mochi tour” from its original location in Kyoto.

A series of events over the past few years has brought back the Mochi, the most famous of Japan’s traditional winter festivals.
